Hurts Transfers to Oklahoma

(In my previous article I had written about five schools Hurts could end up at.  Oklahoma was the first team I wrote about. Coincidence? Or proof of my vast knowledge of college football?)

First he got Baker.  Then Kyler. Now Jalen.  In a never ending succession of extremely talented transfer QBs, Lincoln Riley has struck gold once again.

Jalen Hurts has chosen to transfer to the Oklahoma Sooners.  This huge “get” keeps Oklahoma in the running for a National Title next year, even after losing their Heisman winning quarterback.

With this transfer, there won’t be much of a competition for 2019’s starter at QB.  Hurts has one year of eligibility left, and he’s ready to stamp his name in the history books of Oklahoma football.

Hurts wrote an emotional piece for The Players’ Tribune, where he thanked his old family and welcomed in his new one.

“So to my about-to-be family in Norman, I truly appreciate you for bringing me on board. Y’all don’t know me yet……… but just for now, to introduce myself: I’m a motivated coach’s son from the Eastside of Houston, and I love to play ball.

And to my Bama family, once again, THANK YOU — for everything. It’s been a great three years. I’ll love you until the end of time!
