In a game where some of the best College football prospects from around the country compete. The best of the best showed out in a thrilling all star game that had everything from feel good stories, to records.. and hearts being broken. Team Ballaholics prevailed with a 28-27 victory. In this article i will explain the players who most improved and decreased their stock as we head towards the final recruiting rankings for the 2019 class.

Stock up

1. Jerrion Ealy, four star running back (Committed to Ole Miss)

Ealy who is undecided on whether to pursue Football or Baseball, was easily the MVP of the game. He showed elite level speed and elusiveness all night while also showing the power and willingness to get tough yards between the tackles. He displayed a rare suddenness and lateral quickness that kept defenders guessing where he was going on every play. Not to be outdone by is rushing success he also showed his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield making him and every down player. Ealy finished the game with an all star record of 119 yards rushing on only 14 carries. Whether he ultimately chooses football or baseball, it is clear that whoever gets him will be getting a future star.

2. Jayden Daniels, four star quarterback (Committed to Arizona State)

The MVP for team Ballaholics. He fluidly moved around the pocket and made plays all night. He threw for two touchdowns in the game including the game winner in which he eluded several defenders in the pocket and hit receiver Marcus Washington in stride after his first read wasn’t there. Daniels looked like the best QB on the field and will likely see early playing time during his tenure at Arizona State.

3. Marcus Washington, four star wide receiver (Committed to Texas)

The Robin to Jayden Daniels Batman, Washington was on the receiving end on both of Daniels touchdown passes. He ran smooth routes all night and showed ability to adlib for his mobile quarterback when needed.

4. Nolan Rumler, four star offensive lineman (Committed to Michigan)

Rumler was a man amongst boys all day long. He mauled and pancaked opposing defenders all game. He sprung Jerrion Ealy for big gains on numerous occasions, and no one was able to get around his wide frame on passing downs. Whether ending up at guard or center for the wolverines, this game showed that he has the potential to anchor their offensive line for the next few years.

5. Kayvon Thibodeux, five star defensive end (Committed to Oregon)

Already considered of the the best players in the nation, Kayvon used his speed to terrorize quarterbacks in the backfield all game long. Picking up half a sack and causing another, he beat every elite tackle prospect he was lined up against at least once making it hard for team flash to get in a consistent rhythm throwing the ball.

Honorable mentions

Northwestern commit, Michael Jansey. Linebacker.

In what was the feel good moment of the night. Jansey, who got voted into the game by fans had a pick six sending the crowd and his teammates into an uproar.

LSU commit, Cade York. Kicker.

York hit an all star game record 59 Yard field goal!

Stock Down

1. Zach Calzada, three star quarterback (Committed to Texas A&M)

Calzada had a really rough outing tonight. Despite showing off his rocket arm, he consistently held onto the ball too long in the pocket and made terrible read. His night got capped off when he threw a ball up for grabs off of his back foot resulting in a pick six.

2. Bo Nix, four star quarterback (committed to Auburn)

Despite effusive praise from announcers all night, Nix was never able to consistently impress or lead his team down the field. He did have a touchdown that should have been if not for the no replay rule of all star games. Still Nix often looked inaccurate when throwing the ball down the field.

3. Evan Neal, Five star offensive tackle (Committed to Auburn)

Evan Neal had a very tough assignment on the day having to line up one on one vs Kayvon Thibodeux. He came out on the losing end of this battle more often than not, and consistently looked slow getting into his stance.

4. Joey Yellen, quarterback, Arizona state.

With fellow QB commit Jayden Daniels on the stock up list, this performance was not a great look for Yellen’s chances of winning the QB job at ASU. Throwing an interception on his first throw of the game to Under Armour madden champion Brian Williams. Yellen was never able to find a rhythm and seemed unsure of where to go with the football at times.

5. Team flash quarterbacks

Not One touchdown pass between the three of them. All of team flashes QB’s struggled with decision and accuracy throughout the night and were thoroughly outplayed by the QB’s of team Ballaholics.

Dishonorable Mentions

Cade York, LSU, Kicker.

Ahh the life of a kicker. Possibly the only position that can end up on both the honorable and dishonorable mentions list. After the high of booting a 59 yards field goal earlier in the game, York shanked a 49 yarder that would have given team Flash the lead late in the fourth quarter essentially ending the game.

Bonus notes!

-There were three commitments during the game, a number that keeps getting lower now that early signing day is in full effect.

-Shammond Cooper committed to Illinois over Oklahoma and Missouri.

-Tre’mon Morris Brash chose UCF over the inferior florida schools.

-Arjei Henderson commits to Florida over FSU, LSU, Georgia, and Penn State.
