Usually, we don’t get too many high-profile trades during the offseason but this year has a different feel with arguably 2 top 5 receivers looking to leave their teams. But which one is more desirable? Which player will make a bigger difference for their new respective teams?

One side of me says Brown is the guy. He is coming off arguably one of his best seasons, he played 15 games gaining 104 receptions, 1,274 receiving yards and a career-high 15 touchdowns. ZERO FUMBLES. This man didn’t drop the ball all season. It’s no secret he has been having issues with the Steelers and management. It looks like they are finally willing to grant his wish and trade him. Brown is well disciplined and can be placed just about anywhere on the field. He is great for those catch-in-traffic passes, or you can give him a screen and watch him work. On the other hand, this was Beckham’s worst season in the NFL. The star had 77 receptions for 1,052 receiving yards for 6 touchdowns. These numbers pale in comparison to his first three years in the league where he averaged over 90 catches and 1,300 receiving yards a season. There is the question of his temper tantrums. But that may be solved by winning games. The Giants were horrible on the field this year. That being said Beckham is also 4 years younger than Brown, which may give him a slight advantage.

So where might these guys end up? Well, the teams in the AFC East all desperately need a number 1 receiver. The Patriots offense struggled for a better part of this season, and it feels like Julian Edelman didn’t show up until the playoffs. The Jets will definitely be looking for a star receiver for their newly drafted quarterback Darnold. The Dolphins may want to expand their receiving corps further than Amendola and company. And the Bills looked terrible on every aspect of offense this season and will definitely want a player of Beckham or Brown’s caliber to get things sparkled.

March is around the corner so we shouldn’t be waiting long to see where these stars end up.
