Jets Team Needs and Mock Draft

The Jets desperately need an edge rusher, offensive lineman, defensive back, tight end. With the depth at the edge rusher in this coming draft, they should be able to gain a quality player. I would suggest they grab Nick Bosa or Josh Allen with the number three overall pick. Allen is the more physical of the two, however, Bosa is more explosive. His versatility and speed allow him to beat blockers consistently. That’s exactly what the Jets need, I would grab Bosa first if he is available, and if not result to Allen.

Due to the loss of a second-round pick when they return in round 3, I recommend grabbing a TE. They are going to need a pass catching TE to help their QB on the run. They have Bell for the short passes. Crowder and Anderson as deep threats. They just need someone to work in the middle.

Round 4 I say they grab a defensive back. Yes, they have Jamal Adams. But he can’t do it alone. They should try to get a press cornerback. Someone who can watch the run, but also stay all over the receiver. They now lack a true number 1 CB, however, Darryl Roberts showed potential last season. He will need to step up with the departure of Buster Skrine and Morris Claiborne.

With their 6th and 7th round picks, I would say grab two exterior linemen. Osemele was a fantastic pickup on the interior. While Kelvin Beachum has shown promise, he is on the final year of his 3-year deal and there is no telling where he is headed.

Lastly, there is no reason to worry about a receiver in the draft. The Jets have a young quarterback and Bell as a runner and receiver. They can just pick up some free agents once the draft is completed.
