Bio

Height and Weight: 6’1”, 208 lbs

Position: Cornerback

Team: Jacksonville Jaguars

College: FSU

Coming in at number twenty is the highly talented cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The 24-year-old product out of Florida State burst onto the scene in 2016 when Jacksonville drafted him with the 5th overall pick in that year’s draft. Ramsey has shut down top receivers week in and week out ever since his rookie season. In 2018. Ramsey had 3 interceptions, 65 total tackles, and 13 passes defended en route to his 2nd consecutive Pro Bowl appearance. In his career, Ramsey has a total of 193 tackles, 9 interceptions, and 44 passes defended. The reason his interception rate is not that high is that his blanket coverage causes quarterbacks to look the other way most of the time, as he was only targeted 8 times a game in 2018. When thrown his way, quarterbacks have a 78.5 QBR, which is one of the best in the game. The numbers speak for themselves for Jalen Ramsey, but what separates Jalen Ramsey from the rest and what got him on the Top 20 was his intangibles. Ramsey does not lack confidence and has an extremely short memory, which is key for a position like his. One of Ramsey’s strongest attributes is his trash-talking ability. I know it is not a talent, but Ramsey took a little bit from the game of Josh Norman with his ways to get under his opponent’s skin and get them frustrated. Richard Sherman is like this too. Sometimes Ramsey goes a little too far and starts ranking quarterbacks he likes, but you can not take away the talent this guy holds on the gridiron. Whether it is his actions or his words, Jalen Ramsey deserves to be the highest-ranked corner and definitely has earned the respect to be considered a Top 20 NFL player.
