Fantasy Football Week 4 Starts of the Week: Big day for the Bengals?

Three weeks in the books and we have our first game postponed due to COVID. Unfortunately, the matchup between the Titans and Steelers will not be happening this week. As fantasy managers, it is important to adjust for whatever obstacles may come your way. Looking ahead, I’ll be providing some players at each position that I believe is in for a big week.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals, Quarterback

Still searching for their first win, number one overall pick Joe Burrow has been one of the few bright spots for the Bengals. This Sunday, he has a chance to secure his first official win against a very beatable Jacksonville team. Both teams’ defenses have been relatively poor but their offenses have shown the ability to put up points, setting up for a potential shootout. With that being said, the Jaguars did hold last season's leading rusher, Derrick Henry, to under 4 yards per carry, his lowest of the season. On another note, they did allow 37-year-old quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to rush for 38 yards and a touchdown last Thursday night. Burrow has showcased his rushing ability and given his poor offensive line along with Mixon’s struggles, he could see a lot more attempts this weekend. This provides Burrow with a safe rushing floor and with the weapons to throw to at his arsenal, this could be a big day for the Bengals offense

Honorable Mentions: Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers

Darrell Henderson, Los Angeles Rams, Running Back

With injuries to the Rams’ backfield, Darell Henderson has made the most of his opportunities. He should continue his momentum against a Giants defense that has allowed over a hundred scrimmage yards to running backs each week. This bodes well for Henderson, coming off 100+ scrimmage yards and a touchdown in his last two games. Given the favorable matchup and McVay’s hot hand approach, Henderson should be in for another productive day.

Honorable Mentions: Kenyan Drake, James Robinson, Mike Davis

Will Fuller V, Houston Texans, Wide Receiver

Through three weeks, Fuller has shown you exactly what he has been for much of his career, a hot and cold receiver that you don’t always know what to expect. After posting zero yards and zero catches in week 2, he bounced back with 54 yards and a touchdown against a tough Steelers defense. The whole Texans offense should receive a boost as their schedule begins to lighten up, starting off with a struggling Vikings defense, now dealing with significant injuries. A weak pass rush and a poor secondary, should help quarterback Deshaun Watson sit in the pocket and hit Will Fuller for some big plays.

Honorable Mentions: DeVante Parker, Tyler Boyd

Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins, Tight End

This weekend, Mike Gesicki goes up against a Seahawks defense that has allowed the most receptions and yards in the league. As long as this trend keeps up, continue targeting opposing pass-catchers facing Seattle. Gesicki has proven to be a reliable option for quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, leading the team in yards and targets. With Seattle’s weak defense and a high-powered offense, this game could be a shootout. Given the volume Mike Gesicki should see, sets him up for a monster day.

Honorable Mentions: Hunter Henry, Noah Fant

Los Angeles Rams, D/ST

Going up against a struggling Giants team, the Rams defense should have a strong outing. Giants quarterback, Daniel Jones, has shown to have a history of turnover problems going back to last season. This hasn’t seemed to have gotten any better as he already has six in the first three weeks. With limited playmakers, a poor offensive line, and a turnover-prone quarterback facing a defense featuring Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey, the Rams should see plenty of opportunities for sacks and turnovers.

Honorable Mentions: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills
