It’s never pleasant to see injuries and unfortunately, this season has seen a lot of them. Perhaps the most significant injury of the weekend was to Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. As much as we all love fantasy football, players' safety comes first and I wish nothing but the best for Prescott going forward. If this season has taught us anything, it’s that Injuries, byes, and COVID can strike at any moment, and if you're someone looking to find a replacement this week, here are some options that should be able to get the job done.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Miami Dolphins, Quarterback

After a rough week 1 where Fitzpatrick saw his star receiver DeVantae Parker leave the contest early, he has been on a roll, posting 23-plus fantasy points in every game. This Sunday Fitzpatrick faces a Jets defense that surrendered a career-high 380 passing yards to Kyler Murray while also letting him score through the air and on the ground last weekend. Although Fitzpatrick may not have the athleticism of Murray, the 37-year old has displayed his sneaky rushing ability on several occasions. After throwing for 350 yards and three touchdowns against a tough defense, Fitzmagic could be in for another monster day against a more favorable matchup.

Honorable Mentions: Andy Dalton, Kirk Cousins

Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings, Running Back

After a groin injury sidelined starting running back Dalvin Cook Sunday night, Mattison made the most of his opportunity, finishing with 136 scrimmage yards against what looked to be a solid Seattle run defense. Mattison should be able to continue this production as he faces a favorable Atlanta Falcons team that can’t seem to stop anyone. With Minnesota having an upcoming bye the following week, Mattison is likely to see his first start of the season this weekend, resulting in another productive day.

Honorable Mentions: Damien Harris, Chase Edmonds

Laviska Shenault Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars, Wide Receiver

Shenault has continued to see his targets increase over the past few weeks, coming off a season-high of eight, in his last outing. Given how productive he has been, Shenault should continue to see opportunities against a Lions defense that has struggled stopping the rushing and passing game. This bodes well for Shenault as he has shown the ability to play both receivers and running back in his offense. With D.J. Chark dealing with an injury, Shenault could see an increased role, and given his versatility, he should be able to provide a high floor and a high ceiling.

Honorable Mentions: Mecole Hardman, Christian Kirk

Eric Ebron, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tight End

In both weeks Diontae Johnson left the game early, Eric Ebron has been a beneficiary, receiving season highs in targets. Whether Johnson plays or not, Ebron should continue to see looks against a Browns defense that has allowed a score to a tight end in all but one contest. This sets up Ebron well considering Big Ben has thrown for multiple touchdowns in every game so far this season. With a favorable matchup against a division rival, Ebron should see plenty of opportunities to return value.

Honorable Mentions: Jimmy Graham, Robert Tonyan

Washington Football Team, D/ST

With several holes on this team, the defensive line has not been one of them. Composed of all former first-rounders, they should have their way upfront against a poor Giants offensive line. This isn’t their only concern on offense, the Giants are also dealing with multiple injuries and have a turnover-prone quarterback in Daniel Jones, who has eight this season compared to just two touchdowns, and hasn’t found the end zone since week 1. These circumstances should allow The Washington Football Team’s defense to take advantage of a favorable situation and put up some sacks and turnovers in the process.

Honorable Mentions: Miami Dolphins, New York Giants
