Fantasy Football Week 9 Streamers: A Reliable Patriots Running Back?

As if fantasy managers didn’t have enough to monitor, week 8 showed us the impact weather can have on players’ performances. Although you should consistently play your studs regardless of most weather conditions, you can use it to manage your streaming options. With several players available on the waiver wire, looking at the forecast can be an important factor to consider when making these decisions.

Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings, Quarterback

After throwing for only fourteen times, Cousins finished last Sunday’s win over the Packers with 160 passing yards and a touchdown. In a game that was dominated by Davlin Cook’s 163 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground, Cousins did not have to do much on offense. He should be more involved this weekend against a Lions defense that just allowed three passing touchdowns to Philip Rivers. Given the elite receivers on the Vikings’ offense, Cousins should be able to deliver a bounce-back performance.

Honorable Mentions: Derek Carr, Teddy Bridgewater

Damien Harris, New England Patriots, Running Back

In four active games, Damien Harris has managed to rush for 100 or more yards in both games he received 11-plus carries. With the lack of talent and injuries to Patriots’ pass catchers, along with Cam Newton’s inconsistencies, Harris might be the most reliable option on this offense. Coming off 106 yards and a touchdown, Harris should continue to see a larger role against the winless Jets Monday night.

Honorable Mentions: Zack Moss, JaMycal Hasty

Mike Williams, Los Angeles Chargers, Wide Receiver

After a disappointing performance in week 7, Williams was able to bounce back with five receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown last weekend. He has now posted at least 99 yards and a touchdown in two of his last three games, both of which he received eight targets in compared to just three a few weeks ago. With Williams and Hebert starting to build more chemistry, his efficiency should allow him to see plenty of opportunities against an exploitable Raiders secondary this Sunday.

Honorable Mentions: Corey Davis, Mecole Hardman

Trey Burton, Indianapolis Colts, Tight End

With injuries on the Colts’ offense, Burton might be the only reliable pass catcher. In his last two games, he has three touchdowns, two of them coming on the ground. This weekend Burton faces a Ravens defense that has struggled against several tight ends and just gave up 48 yards along with a touchdown to Eric Ebron. Burton’s manufactured touches along with his targets should allow him to continue playing a major role.

Honorable Mentions: Robert Tonyan, Irv Smith Jr.

Texans, D/ST

Although the Texans’ defense has been horrendous this season, they did have a solid performance against the Jaguars in week 5, allowing just fourteen points and finishing with a few turnovers as well. They should be able to take advantage of a struggling team once again as the Jaguars have remained winless since week 1 and are now down their starting quarterback this Sunday.

Honorable Mentions: Washington Football Team, New York Giants
