Although several bad weather games led to some disappointing performances, it is important to remember that each week is a new week and just because a player did not deliver, does not mean they won’t bounce back. With more injuries to star players in week 8, it serves as a reminder to monitor players’ statuses throughout the week when making your start and sit decisions.

Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers, Quarterback

Justin Herbert has been phenomenal, throwing for three or more touchdowns in four consecutive appearances, something his opponents this weekend, the Raiders, have allowed in three of their last four games. Herbert’s high-scoring performances have been a result of his defense allowing 29+ points in each of these contests. Given how effective Herbert has been, the Chargers should continue relying on their offense in a favorable matchup.

Honorable Mentions: Josh Allen, Cam Newton

D’Andre Swift, Detroit Lions, Running Back

Coming off a disappointing performance in a tough matchup, Swift should be able to turn things around against a Vikings defense that has allowed 92+ yards and/or a touchdown to running backs in six of their seven games this season. With the injury to Kenny Golladay and a favorable matchup, Swift should see an increased role on the ground and through the air this Sunday.

Honorable Mentions: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Chase Edmonds

Chase Claypool, Pittsburgh Steelers, Wide Receiver

Claypool has been on a tear, posting six combined touchdowns through the air and on the ground in his last four appearances. He should be able to continue his production against a Cowboys defense that can’t seem to stop the run or pass game and has allowed 37+ points in five games this season. Claypool's versatility gives him the chance to continue finding the end zone and the potential for a monster performance this Sunday.

Honorable Mentions: Brandin Cooks, Diontae Johnson

Noah Fant, Denver Broncos, Tight End

After a strong start to the season, Fant has been disappointing since coming back from injury. He should be able to bounce back this weekend against a Falcons defense that has allowed 55+ yards and/or a touchdown to a tight end against every opponent not named the Carolina Panthers. Coming off a career-high seven receptions, Fant should continue to play a major role and be more productive.

Honorable Mentions: T.J. Hockenson, Hayden Hurst

New England Patriots, D/ST

Coming off of a tough loss, the Patriots should be more than determined to shut down a division rival on Monday night. Going up against the only remaining winless team in the league, potentially missing their starting quarterback, the Patriots should be able to take full advantage of a short-handed Jets offense.

Honorable Mentions: Houston Texans, Washington Football Team
