Tom Brady

Everyone in the NFL landscape is trying to guess what Brady will do when it comes to free agency. This will be the first time he can be an unrestricted free agent and he plans on testing the market if reports are to be true. There is a very good chance he stays put and never leaves the comfort of New England and Belichick. If you ask my opinion I can see him both staying and leaving. There are strong cases for both, but I’m leaning more towards a departure from New England. He can go back home to Los Angeles and play for the Chargers. Yet a surprising pick would be the play for the 49ers. The 49ers can get from under the Garropolo deal and sign his older former teammate. The team the 49ers have current just made it to the Superbowl, they can make it back and with some better quarterback play, they can win their sixth trophy.

Phillip Rivers

Rivers had one hell of a career playing for the Chargers during these last 14 seasons. He will leave as their leader in mostly every passing category and will leave having known anything but playing as a Charger in his NFL career. This is his first time being a free agent in his career where his former team didn’t plan on signing him. He had one of his more down years in terms of play, but still produced enough to get looks around the NFL. I can see him most likely going to Miami and being a great mentor to whom the Dolphins draft this upcoming draft. He should be able to beat out Fitzpatrick as the starter and at least play one more year as a solid starter. After this season though, I don’t see him as more than a really good backup or mentor-type due to the growing changing of the tides in starting quarterbacks. Most teams have a young option or an established starter already at quarterback. The only surprise team I can see him going to is the Saints. If the Saints lose out on Brees and Bridgewater, I can see Rivers and Payton making a connection and having a year or possibly two before they find a successor for the Big Easy.

Teddy Bridgewater

Speaking of Bridgewater, after this season he should have a few options of teams he can go to this season. He went a perfect 5-0 this past season and a solid touchdown to interception ratio at 9:2. Some people will say that this is due to Sean Payton at the helm, but most people forget that Bridgewater had a very promising career start in Minnesota before a devastating injury to his leg. He has finally healed completely and shown that he can still play at a high level and win games. He can either chose to be Brees’s successor or to take his talents to another team. He can either go to the Chargers or the Raiders in my eyes. The Chargers are a better fit I feel like with a plethora of weapons on offense and a solid running game paired with a stout defense. This team can resemble the Chargers of 2018 when they made it to the divisional round of the playoffs. The surprise pick would be the Raiders. Gruden hasn’t yet confirmed he is sold on Carr and can be in the market to get a younger veteran option in Bridgewater. The move to Vegas can be interesting to Bridgewater as well as a good up and coming squad with a lot of promise on both sides. The Raiders have a solid core for the future including their last four first-round picks and another two incoming this year.
