Should Washington take Tua #2 overall over Chase Young?

The amount of times I had to tell myself that Washington isn’t that stupid to do that deal only to remember back in 2012 they drafted RGIII and Kirk Cousins the same draft. Also that the Cardinals took Kyler Murray after drafting Josh Rosen the year before. That being said, I don’t know how anyone can watch the Redskins offense last year and believe Tua coming off from injury would fare better than Haskins did last year. Their offensive line is a mess, they are at a standstill with their best lineman, both TEs are gone a 34-year-old running back and a group of solid young receivers but no definitive #1. The Redskins need an overhaul on both sides but not at the QB position. You have the better defensive player coming out of college and that will fall to your lap with Burrows going #1 to the Bengals. Rivera is a defensive guy. Get Young and build your defense, fix your line and give Haskins a legitimate shot.

Isaiah Simmons had a strong combine so far. Where do you see him landing?

I can envision him being a Miami Dolphin. I understand the Tua hype but with Trevor Lawerence coming out next year, you can afford to wait another year. Simmons is a positionless defender that is slated as LB and after this week runs a 4.39 40 time. Simmons even said it himself that he could go down there in Flores’ system. His, jack of all trades, athleticism, and ability would make him a hand glove fit for this defense. I understand the importance of the need for QB but defense is just as important and Simmons being the catalyst for your defense is very appealing.

The Melvin Gordon talk is very quiet. Where do you see him going?

A team I talked about earlier on this Q&A. The Miami Dolphins. If you are a team that is looking to bring a rookie QB giving him a reliable RB to take pressure off is the best course of action to ease in the system. The Dolphins traded Kenyon Drake midseason, their leading rusher ended up being their 38-year-old QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, the had the worst rushing attack at 72 yards a game, the Chargers have a reputation to uphold of being cheap and the Dolphins have the Cap space. Build the line through the draft and free agency and we can Melvin Gordon back to his old self.

The Bengals are planning to use the Franchise Tag on AJ Green. Thoughts?

The Bengals need to move on and focus on a proper rebuild for Joe Burrow potentially and AJ Green is not a top tier WR anymore and isn’t worth the 18.4 million dollar price tag that comes along with that tag. I understand wanting to give Burrow a reliable option but there’s nothing reliable about Green’s health. Both sides need to part.

If Clowney doesn’t sign back with the Seahawks, what is a good landing spot?

Depends on what he wants. For most of his career, he’s been part of playoff teams the Texans and the Seahawks for his only there. If he is serious about winning, go to Indy or come to Philly( I know about the Wentz hit). The Eagles use their DL in rotation, so bringing in Clowney alongside with Cox, Graham, and a returning Malik Jackson will be tough to handle. For the Colts their defense is slowly improving and adding Clowney will upgrade it and also gives him a chance to go after the Texans twice a year.  If he wants to cash out he’ll go to Miami or the Giants. Neither defenses are good at the moment but Clowney could become the face and change the complexion of the team. He’ll have plenty of suitors since he’s most likely the best defensive player in the Free Agency market in a few short weeks.
