Doug Marrone, Jacksonville Jaguars

Besides their run to the AFC championship in 2017, Doug Marrone’s tenure has not been a good one. The Jaguars are nowhere near being relevant, and the first man out the door is always the coach. I would be surprised if Marrone makes it through the entire season.

Matt Nagy, Chicago Bears

It is amazing how a coach can go from a division championship to being on the hot seat in a two-year span, but such is the case for Matt Nagy. With QB Mitch Trubisky most likely gone after this season, the Bears are going to look to change culture, and getting rid of Nagy might be in their plans. The Bears need to at least make the playoffs to save Nagy’s job, but that’s not even close to a guarantee.

Matt Patricia, Detroit Lions

After six great years as the Patriots defensive coordinator, Matt Patricia became the head coach of the Detroit Lions two years ago. The two years have not been fun, however, and another bad season will most likely cost Patricia his job.

Adam Gase, New York Jets

After just one season with the New York Jets, Adam Gase is on the hot seat, and it is not looking good. Gase has lost the locker room already, which is concerning considering how young the team is. Many players have complained about Gase too. If he wants to stick around with the Jets, Gase must not only win football games, but win back the locker room too.

Dan Quinn, Atlanta Falcons

It has been a weird rollercoaster for Dan Quinn and the Atlanta Falcons. Through five seasons, Quinn has a winning record, two playoff berths, and a super bowl appearance. Despite that, I feel that time is running out for Quinn in Atlanta because of his mediocrity over the past two seasons, in which he went 7-9 both years. If another season like this follows, Quinn may be stuck without a job next season.

Anthony Lynn, Los Angeles Chargers

After two straight winning seasons, Anthony Lynn and the Los Angeles Chargers had a down year in 2019, going 5-11. A lot of this had to do with the play of Philip Rivers, who had the worst year of his career. Rivers is gone now, and the Chargers have a talented roster built around rookie quarterback Justin Herbert. I think Lynn is a quality coach, but you may hear his name start to be whispered around if his team underachieves for a second straight season.
