Jimmy G or Kyle Shannahan? Who’s more to blame for the Superbowl?

When we saw the Seahawks throw the ball at the 1-yard line, Pete Carroll went away from what the strength of his team is which was run first. When we saw the Falcon blew a 25 point lead the Falcons only had rushing attempts the entire second half. Both instances of poor situational coaching and at Superbowl 54 this was the case again. Sure Jimmy G made some bad throws and he did Emmanuel Sanders who got open over the top for a potential go-ahead in the late stages. However, Garoppolo didn’t show much at all in the playoffs, to begin with, to show that he could be trusted to win a close game. Shannahan started the game off with running the football and stretching the Chiefs defenses out with reverses with Deebo Samuel. Then they stopped doing it altogether. The poor clock management at the end of the first half, going away from the run when they couldn’t stop it all night it’s hard for me not to get most of the blame to Kyle here. I like Kyle. He was my pick to win the Coach of the Year. However, when you go away from what you do best, the blame goes on coaching?

Do you believe Tom Brady is going anywhere?

All jokes aside no. With the wave of new younger QB taking over whereas the older guard is taking a step back or leaving altogether, I don’t see any team taking a QB who will be 43 years old at the start of preseason on their team. It’s more cost-effective way is drafting a QB and building a team around him while being on his rookie deal. The Patriots reportedly offer 30 million a year to try to keep him. It’ll be hard to see any other team that is close to contending offer him around the same amount.

If Derrick Henry doesn’t return to the Titans, What’s a destination you can see him going to?

I said this last year when Le’Veon Bell was a free Agent. The Colts are a perfect fit. You kill two birds with one stone. You have the cap space to offer Derrick Henry whatever he commands, you have one of the best offensive lines to run behind, a great offensive mastermind in Frank Reich and it also cripples the Titans offense by taking away their catalyst. There’s nothing wrong with Marlon Mack however Derrick Henry is a bonafide bell-cow running back. Derrick Henry had over 300 carries this past season in 15 games not including the workload he did in the playoffs. Adding him to the Colts alongside Mack will take the workload off each other as both of them dealt with injuries last season. Still not the biggest fan of Brissett but with a great line and a 1-2 punch like this, you can’t mess this up. Your core pieces Nelson, Leonard, Hooker aren’t due for extension and you have 86 million in cap. Why not go for it?

The Eagles are going into next season without an OC & going by a committee style. Thoughts?

It’s…..interesting. The 49ers do it and in the end in regards to Philadelphia Doug Pederson calls the plays. So if the offense is stagnant again for whatever reason injuries or not it’ll be on Doug instead of having Mike Groh as the scapegoat. Press Taylor has worked his way up to earn both Carson’s and Doug’s trust and adding Rich Scangarello and Andrew Breiner in the mix gives them the outsider’s perspective that Eagles fans wanted. Hard to tell in February we’ll see more when the season starts in September.

Is Patrick Mahomes the new face of the league?

In his 2nd full season as a starter he has won an MVP, became the 2nd player in NFL history to throw for 50 TDs and over 5000 yards in a season, led his team to the Superbowl and won it and in all three playoff games this season, came from behind to win it. Brady Rodgers Brees Eli and the rest of the older guard is phasing out and the next generation QBs are coming in and making their mark. Mahomes is the best out of all of them and no QB over the last two years has played better than him. So get ready for the Mahomes era. He’s only 24 and nothing will stop him unless injury bug reels his ugly head.
