Transfer news has hit the Scarlet Knights hard over the past few days. According to On The Banks.com’s Bobby Deren, OL & Team Captain Jonah Jackson has decided to transfer out of Rutgers’ football program as a graduate transfer.

This comes as quite a shock for many in the Rutgers community, as according to NJ.com, “…[Jonah] Jackson [was] spotted sitting in the front row for Rutgers' first 2019 team meeting earlier this week in a photo released on Rutgers' official social media accounts, so the departure comes as something of a surprise.”

Quite a surprise, indeed. Jackson was revered by his teammates. So much so, they named him a team captain at the beginning of the season. Coming to Rutgers in 2015, Jackson played in 31 games for the Scarlet Knights, starting in 16 of them. In 2018, Jackson has been named an All-Big Ten Honorable mention selection for his versatility as an interior offensive lineman.

No official word yet on where Jackson plans to transfer to. Other significant graduate transfers include tight end Nakia Griffin-Stewart & running back Max Anthony.
