Monterio Hunt Commitment

According to reports from ScarletNation.com, Northwest Mississippi Community College wide receiver Monterio Hunt is set sign his letter of intent with Rutgers in the coming days.

“Everything checked out, I am all good as far as enrolling in school. School starts the 21st [of January],” Hunt told Scarlet Nation. “I am just waiting for them to get back in the offices, which I think is this week. But with the transcripts and everything for school, I am all good.”

The 6’2” JUCO product didn’t have quite a productive season with Northwest Mississippi. In 2018, he logged in 41 catches for 405 yards and three touchdowns. While the production doesn’t say much, the tangibles and potential say much more.

According to his Hudl.com profile, Hunt runs a 4.6 on the 40-yard dash. At only 190 pounds, he can bench 255 lbs and squat 350 lbs. With so much strength at such a lean size, Hunt could be a mismatch for opposing Big 10 defensive backs, and a taller target for Rutgers quarterback Artur Sitkowski to throw to.
