Robert Saleh (Defensive Coordinator SF)

Saleh is what teams are looking for young, energetic and motivated. The Niners have taken the league by storm this year with a young coaching staff and teams may try to mimic that. A step in the right direction would be hiring a guy like Saleh who will get players to play hard for him. San Francisco may have a talented defense but Saleh still deserves his credit as they rank second in fewest yards per game and have been able to get to the QB as 4 players have over 5 sacks.

Mike McCarthy (Former GB HC)

McCarthy coached 13 seasons for the Packers and has only had 3 losing ones. Two of them came at the end of his tenure in Green Bay where Aaron Rodgers couldn’t stay healthy. Mike has shown he can coach in this league and a team that may be afraid to take a chance on a new name may look for a safe hire here with McCarthy. I think a team to keep an eye on is Washington to go with a guy like Mike who people know and respect around the league.

Matt Rhule (Baylor HC)

Wherever this guy goes, the program seems to get better. Rhule has had experience in the league before and is definitely one of the most intriguing names we’ve heard as the offseason approaches. He succeeded at Temple putting them in the top 25 for the first time in many years and Baylor almost found a way to knock off Lincoln Riley’s bunch in the big 12 title game. Rhule has said he needs an almost perfect situation to leave Baylor and there doesn’t seem to be many of those out there right now. I doubt Rhule coaches in 2020 but his track record makes it necessary to put him on this list.

Ron Rivera (former CAR HC)

Riverboat Ron is looking for a second stint after getting fired in Carolina and leaving that franchise where he is the winningest head coach. Rivera has said that he wants a job where the team will be ready to compete. A lot like Mike McCarthy, Ron has shown he can coach in this league. If Jason Garrett doesn’t make it in Dallas look for Jerry to approach Rivera who will be able to connect with the young linebackers they have in big D.

Eric Bieniemy (Offensive Coordinator KC)

One of the names that no one knows but everyone should be talking about Bieniemy has been apart of a lethal offense in Kansas City. The Andy Reid coaching tree is one of the largest in the NFL, if big red’s opinion means anything to teams which at this point isn’t a question Bieniemy should be at the top of many teams wish lists. Look for Eric to get a shot with a team and an opportunity to groom a young QB. The Redskins have a Quarterback who is a bit of a project in Dwayne Haskins and should sure be interested in a guy like Bieniemy.

Greg Roman (Offensive Coordinator BAL)

Lamar Jackson has changed football forever. John Harbaugh is getting most of the credit for this explosive Raven team but people have begun to give Roman his respect. Greg has helped Jackson and the ravens become almost impossible to game plan for. For teams that need a full tear down Roman is a solid option. The drafting of mobile QB’s has become more common and a candidate like this is what will work with the new ideas that Baltimore has shown the league.
