Free Agency has been a wild ride so far, and it has only just begun. The Honey Badger is in KC, Green Bay loaded up on defense, and the blockbuster deals of Dee Ford and Odell Beckham Jr. have been completed. After all of this, I feel that the team that is winning the offseason so far is the New York Jets. New York has added to both sides of the ball with blockbuster signings and guys that can fit their system, most notably Le’veon Bell. Let’s look at the moves made so far by Gang Green

Revamping the Offensive Line

The first move made by New York was in the trenches. A few days ago, the Jets acquired Guard Kelechi Osemele from the Oakland Raiders. The Iowa State product is a 2-time Pro Bowler and was a 1st team All-Pro in 2016. He also has a Super Bowl ring under his belt when he won with the Baltimore Ravens. This move is solid for the Jets. It gives them a solidified pro on the offensive line to protect quarterback Sam Darnold and control the running game featuring newly acquired Le’veon Bell. The Jets are still looking to add to the line, so be on the lookout for more moves to be made.

Pro-Bowl Defense?

Early Tuesday morning, the Jets landed Pro-Bowl linebacker C.J. Mosley for 5 years/$85 Million. $51 Million is guaranteed. This is a great signing by New York. While a little overpaid, it is worth it if Mosley continues his success. At only 26 years old Mosley has put up an impressive resume. In 5 seasons, he is a 4x Pro Bowler with 597 combined tackles (398 solos). Mosley was the leader of an elite Baltimore Ravens defense. Not only is New York getting a good player, but they are also getting a leader. A captain of the defense and the locker room. With the names of Nick Bosa, Josh Allen, and Quinnen Williams, and do not forget about Jamal Adams, this defense can be scary and get pressure on other offenses.

The Blockbuster Move

Late Tuesday night, the news everyone has been waiting for finally came out. Le’veon Bell finally signed, and he chose Gang Green. Le’veon Bell agreed to a deal worth 4 year/$52.5 Million. This move solidified that the Jets are looking to go for it with Sam Darnold. Over 5 seasons, Bell is a 2-time All-Pro, 3-time Pro Bowler and has over 5,000 rushing yards. Bell has the versatility to run in between the tackles, outside the edge, and can also line up as a receiver and reel in catches for you. He is a top 5 running back when he is on the field, and Jet fans should be excited to watch Gang Green this season.

No Matter What, Something Will Go Wrong

Along with CJ Mosley, Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr had agreed to sign with New York. Since deals are not official until Wednesday, players can back out of the deal if they want to, and that is exactly what happened. Anthony Barr pulled out of the deal with the Jets and decided to stay with the Minnesota Vikings. Something will always go wrong with Gang Green, no matter how much is going right for them.
