NFL Schedule Marquee Matchups
The schedule is now up for the 2019 NFL season and there are some very intriguing and interesting games to look out for. Here will be a breakdown of the three marquee matchups for the 2019 season that everyone should try to tune in to.
New Orleans Saints vs. Los Angeles Rams, Week 2
In the NFC Championship game last year, the Rams defeated the Saints 26-23, but there is so much more to this game than the score. With the infamous pass interference, no call on Nickell Robey-Coleman, which ultimately led to a rule change in the offseason was a big reason why the Rams won in the eyes of Saints fan. These two teams are arguably the class of the NFC and should expect to be back in Super Bowl contention in 2019. With the nucleus of both teams returning, this Week 2 matchup should be very entertaining.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Seattle Seahawks, Week 7
If you look up and down the rosters of the Ravens and the Seahawks, they are extremely similar. Both teams feature a ground and pound offense and a gritty defense that wear opposing teams down to win ball games. The only difference is the quality of the quarterback. Since Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is still unproven, Russell Wilson clearly has the advantage. This game should be very boring but should be a very good game. Another thing to look at this game is the return of Earl Thomas to Seattle. Thomas spent the first nine seasons in Seattle and ended on a sour note with a contract dispute and a broken leg. Over this offseason, he signed a deal with the Ravens and got the money he wanted. It should be interesting to see how Seattle handles Lamar Jackson’s threat to take off and run and how Baltimore handles the multiple offensive threats from Seattle.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. New England Patriots, Week 14
Probably the most anticipated game heading into the 2019 season is the AFC Championship rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots. The Patriots came out on top, but it was not without a fight from Kansas City, particularly Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 295 yards and 3 touchdowns to top off his MVP season. The Patriots will be without arguably their best weapon in Rob Gronkowski, who called it a career this offseason. Will Mahomes and crew avenge their loss, or will Brady come out on top yet again?
