AFC West Draft Grades
Denver Broncos: A-
Summary- The Broncos took multiple players with very high ceilings. They secured one of the best Tight Ends in the draft with Noah Fant. Dalton Risner is one of the best offensive linemen to come out of this draft. If those two picks were not enough, they secured the Quarterback they were rumored to take in the top 10 in the 2nd round. If Drew Lock works out well for the Broncos, and Fant and Risner live up to their potential this draft will be a massive success especially with the lower number of picks.
Oakland Raiders: A
Summary- At first, I was not a fan of this draft. Ferrell was a reach but after looking back on who they got they did a great job at getting good value after this pick. Josh Jacobs easily has the ability to be a primary back in the NFL. Jonathan Abram very well could be the best safety taken in this draft. Trayvon Mullen may have seen his hype die as we got closer to the draft he was at one point in the conversation for the best corner in the draft. Foster Moreau was a great pick at Tight End for the Raiders. They even added Hunter Renfrow who may look 35 but is very underrated as a receiver.
Los Angeles Chargers: B
Summary- The Chargers reached for Tillery who has potential but is still not a complete player yet, but more than made up for it getting Nasir Adderley late in the 2nd round. Outside of these two, they could get solid contributions from sleepers such as Drue Tranquill, and maybe Easton Stick turns into Phillip Rivers replacement.
Kansas City Chiefs: C-
Summary- Mecole Hardman has received great reviews from scouts and GMs across the league but will have to show more ability than just pure speed that he got away with in college. Thornhill and Saunders could both turn into decent players but overall the Chiefs negated big positions of need and didn’t have a pick until late in the 2nd round. They missed out on some better players that would have also filled some big holes.
