Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly will face his previous coaching stop, Cincinnati in South Bend on October 2 as part of an intriguing 2021 schedule released by the football program on April 25.

Notre Dame players and alums announced each game like the NFL Draft that took place that Thursday evening in a video series posted on Instagram.

The Fighting Irish will kick off the 2021 campaign with their first visit to Tallahassee to face Florida State since 2014. In their last visit to Doak Campbell Stadium, the Irish scored the potential game-winning touchdown that was called back due to offensive pass interference, losing 31-27.

Notre Dame will have seven home games in 2021 that include old and new foes.

The Toledo Rockets will make their first appearance at Notre Dame Stadium on September 11. This will be the first time the two schools meet on the gridiron.

Notre Dame’s in-state rivalry with the Purdue Boilermakers will be renewed in South Bend on September 18. The Irish defeated Purdue 30-14 in their 2014 Shamrock Series game played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 56–26–2 and the winner receives the Shillelagh Trophy.

The Irish will have three straight home games starting with USC on October 23, North Carolina on October 30 and Navy on November 6. Georgia Tech will be on November for Senior Day.

The highly anticipated road game for the Fighting Irish is their Solider Field showdown against the Wisconsin Badgers on September 25. This game concludes a two-game series set between at Lambeau Field on October 2, 2020.

The Irish will also make two appearances in the state of Virginia almost a month apart. For the second time in three years, Notre Dame will travel to Blacksburg to face the Hokies on October 9. They will face the Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville on November 13 for the first time since Will Fuller’s game-winning catch thrown by DeShone Kizer, who replaced injured Malik Zaire at quarterback in the 2015 game.

The end of the season trip to California concludes 2021 as the Irish face Stanford. The Irish have not won in Palo Alto since 2007.
