It’s important to compare the Philadelphia Eagles to their division rivals, as those teams will be their main competition for a playoff spot. This series will compare the starting rosters of the four NFC East teams, continuing with offensive tackles.

1. Tyron Smith

Smith has made the Pro Bowl in the last six seasons as the blind side protector of Dak Prescott and Tony Romo. To answer any questions about his impact, go back to Week 10 of the 2017 season against the Falcons when Smith missed the game with an injury and his backup allowed DE Adrian Clayborn to rack up six sacks in one game.

2. Lane Johnson

The 2013 first-round pick has bounced back from early-career suspensions to become arguably the premiere right tackle in the game. He displays extreme athleticism for a lineman and shuts down top pass rushers such as J.J. Watt, Von Miller, and Demarcus Lawrence regularly.

3. Trent Williams

Williams could be the top LT in the league if he could stay healthy, so his placement says a lot about how good the tackles in the NFC East are. He’s reportedly OK after a health scare, and first-round QB Dwayne Haskins should be comfortable as long as Williams is available.

4. La’el Collins

Collins was a steal for the Cowboys after he went unselected in the 2015 draft thanks to legal trouble that actually had nothing to do with him. He’s become a steady presence on the line and will cash in after the 2019 season.

5. Jason Peters

Peters is a solid, but no longer great tackle, which is very good for a 37-year-old tackle. The Eagles drafted his eventual replacement in Andre Dillard, but the Bodyguard will protect Wentz’s blind side for one more year.

6. Nate Solder

Solder may not have played up to the massive contract that the Giants gave him, but he was still an OK starter on the left side. His play should improve as the Giants continue to try and fix their O-line.

7. Morgan Moses

Moses has started every game for the Redskins in the past four seasons and has been a serviceable starter. He was rewarded with a contract extension in 2017.

8. Chad Wheeler

Wheeler is the only player on this list that is simply not good at all. An undrafted free agent signing by New York in 2017, he only starts because of how terrible Ereck Flowers was.
