Big shout out to the classiest move I’ve seen from a member of the Buffalo Bills all season. Shaq Lawson, a native of South Carolina, will be paying for the funeral for 11-year-old Ja’Naiya Scott who was tragically and inexplicably murdered by a savage firing of 35 shots at her South Carolina home.

In an era when so many people are complaining about gun violence left and right, here’s Shaq Lawson actually doing something about it. Playing in the NFL sure has its perks and Shaw Lawson has put him to the best use I’ve seen in a long time. I also sense that’ll he be getting some good karmic bank in the near future.

Lawson, who has a sister the age of the deceased Scott, had read reports of the shooting and felt compelled to do something about it. As of now, Police are said to have no leads and they’ve offered a 10,000-dollar reward for anyone who knows anything. My heart goes out to the family of Ja’Naiya Scott, I can’t imagine how they must be feeling.

The fact that Shaq Lawson is paying for the funeral is wonderful but the fact that it’s necessary is at the heart of a giant problem in America. People try to race to bait this issue but too many people are being killed in America. Instead of taking the easy way out and blaming the guns, I think it’s time we really took a look at ourselves and ask why this kind of thing keeps happening?

This poor 11-year-old girl is dead due to senseless violence. 35 rounds fired at a house? That’s just evil and unnecessary. Why would someone be so sick as to want to do that in the first place? I feel these are the kinds of questions we need to ask, only then will we gain answers and insight. To Shaq Lawson, I couldn’t be proud to have you playing for my team.

In light of a classless act, you’ve shown great class.
