We saw last Saturday night was a little bit of a flashback. Bo Nix, son of former Auburn Quarterback Patrick Nix, stepped up last night in what has been the biggest stage of his young career so far. For starters let’s take it back to Pat where this all started.

Patrick was an Auburn QB from 1992-1995. In 1993 in the epic iron bowl showdown, Auburn's starting QB Stan White got injured and so Pat came in for what would be the beginning of an amazing career for the Tigers. The first play Pat was in, he threw a touchdown pass to WR #81 Frank Sanders, which turns out to be the play the Tigers needed to cap off the 22-14 victory over the tide. The Tigers would go 11-0 that season in Terry Bowden's first season as head coach. Patrick would go on to be the Tigers starting QB from 1994-1995 throwing for over 4,900 yards and 31 touchdowns. Now fast forward a bit, Pat nix has a son named Bo nix, Bo has grown up in a football home.

His dad being a football coach his whole life, him growing up around the sport, you can not help but think what was going to happen. Bo coming out of high school was a 5 star QB number one dual-threat QB in the nation, number three player in the state of Alabama according to 24/7 sports. He led Pinson Valley high school to back-to-back state championships. So winning the big game is in his blood. There was also a nice little segment about Bo on college gameday yesterday morning and Pat nix talking about Bo being at the 2011 national championship game. Bo watched Cam Newton and the Auburn Tigers win a close one to become national champions. Telling his family, one day he will start for the Auburn Tigers and do the same thing.

Little did he know, on August 31, 2019, Bo Nix had his opportunity to shine in front of millions to lead his team to victory with a game-winning touchdown pass to Seth Williams with 9 seconds left. To make this moment even sweeter. Both Pat and Bo’s game-winning touchdown passes were on the same side of the field, the same direction, both wearing number #10, and the only difference was that Patrick threw his pass to #81 Frank sanders and Bo threw him to #18 Seth Williams. Bo is something special and the Auburn Tigers are off to a nice start in this 2019 season.
