After four weeks of preseason play, the deadline has arrived for NFL teams to cut their rosters from 90 players to 53. Here’s an analysis of all 37 moves Philadelphia made to polish off the roster.

Released (6, in alphabetical order):

Kasim Edebali, DE

Eli Harold, DE

Hayes Pullard, LB

Orlando Scandrick, CB

Will Tye, TE

Stefen Wisniewski, OG

Philadelphia traded a reserve lineman for Harold earlier in the preseason to add to the DE competition. With the emergence of Daeshon Hall and the potential of Josh Sweat, he didn’t make the team. Wisniewski offers versatility, but didn’t play well enough for the Eagles to see him as a top backup to Jason Kelce. Scandrick could be back as soon as week two for salary cap reasons.

Waived (28, in alphabetical order):

Josh Adams, RB

Carlton Agudosi, WR

Alex Ellis, TE

Trae Elston, S

Anthony Fabiano, C

Deiondre’ Hall, S

Ajene Harris, CB

Josh Hawkins, CB

Treyvon Hester, DT

Cody Kessler, QB

Riley Mayfield, OT

Jeremiah McKinnon, CB

Marken Michel, WR

Sua Opeta, OG

Josh Perkins, TE

Donnel Pumphrey, RB

Keegan Render, OG

Boston Scott, RB

Sojourn Shelton, CB

Alex Singleton, LB

Wendell Smallwood, RB

DeAndre Thompkins, WR

Clayton Thorson, QB

Jason Thompson, S

Brett Toth, OT

Greg Ward, WR

Kevin Wilkins, DT

Chris Worley, LB

Josh Adams was the team’s leading rusher last season, but the depth chart at that position looks a lot more appealing this year. Playoff hero Treyvon Hester didn’t make the cut after Philadelphia decided to only hold on to four DTs. Cody Kessler is bad. The Eagles also opted to only keep two TEs on the 53, with Josh Perkins being the odd man out. Smallwood was the team’s second-leading rusher, but was in the same boat as Adams. Even though the Eagles just drafted Thorson, 40-year old Josh McCown was a better option. Toth didn’t make the team after being signed from the Army. Many were clamoring for Ward to be retained over Mack Hollins, but he doesn’t have the special teams ability that Hollins possesses.

Other Transactions (3, in alphabetical order):

Jalen Mills, CB (PUP)

Richard Rodgers, TE (IR)

Aziz Shittu, DT (Waived/Injured)

Mills remains unable to play due to a foot injury sustained last season.
